This thing is a great investment for anyone who enjoys a glass of wine, but doesn’t want to spend a fortune on expensive wines, and doesn’t want to let an entire bottle breathe just to get one glass! We both did blind taste tests on this when we first got it with an inexpensive Shiraz. There was a very noticeable difference in the glass that had been aerated, and both of us were able to pick out the aerated wine. It was much smoother than the wine from the bottle. The main thing it seems to do is to reduce the vinegar-like quality of young wine.
One thing to note, when you get this, be sure you don’t accidentally cover the small pinhole with your finger when you are pouring. It is there to let in air. You’ll know if you are doing this, because the wine won’t bubble and make noise as it comes out of the aerator (as it is supposed to do).

I highly recommend the Wisp Wine Aerator System with Respirer – we love it. This is a quality product and well worth the purchase. Makes that inexpensive bottle of wine taste like it has bottle age on it. We use our Respirer every night and just love it. I purchased this for my husband at Christmas because I did not know what to get a man who has everything. He loves red wine and loves how the Respirer enhances the flavor of the wine from our cellar.
I recently purchased my “Wine Wisp” after a friends recommendation and I can’t believe what a difference this little aerator has made in my wine drinking experience! I just got the new Wisp and I love it. I have the Respirer, which works great. But this is even more efficient. No more drips, and the poor spout regulates the flow so no overfilling if you’re not watching. I will be giving the Wisp as several Christmas gifts. This is also a great hostess gift for a holiday party – better than taking a bottle of wine and your friends will continue to thank you long after the party. I highly recommend this product.
I have owned a Respirer for the last year and love it!! The Flo Perfect pouring spout is a great addition for getting every last drop of wine into my glass with no mess. And I really like how the Respirer fits snug into the spout in between pouring. I’m very excited about the new system and packaging in time for holiday gifts. Most of my friends drink wine but have turned to lesser expensive bottles for now and using the Wisp Aerator System has really made a nice difference in the taste.
