I ordered this for my wife’s birthday a few weeks ago. She hasn’t had the opportunity to use it yet so yesterday I pulled it out when my mom came over to visit. I don’t drink wine but my mom is definitely the connoisseur. She was simply amazed that this product could make such a huge difference and kept going on and on about how great it was. Subsequently, she asked me to order one for her for mothers day; so I just did.
I purchased 2 at first, one for us and one for my daughter. We tried it on a few bottles with some friends and they wanted one. It was his birthday soon, so I purchased one for him. I know he is going to love it.
We had done a taste testing about a year ago in a winery that used a bottle-attached aerator. Incredible what a difference it makes for most red wines. Almost all wines taste better (hard to tell for some younger, less expensive wines). This does a great job. We didn’t want to bother with one that fits onto the bottle, both because of fit worries and the hassle of putting on and off. This is very easy to use and just sits in a small rubber stand on the table. It’s small, easy to hold, a nice piece of glass, trivial to clean – just requires a rinse – can be passed around the table easily, has a rubber stand that works. For those who like wine, this will be money well spent.
What do I know from wine? We enjoy some red wine with dinner occasionally, but don’t know enough to make very informed choices and can’t afford to spend much – especially when we often can’t tell the difference between an inexpensive bottle and a more pricey one. I had read somewhere that aerators really made a difference, so I started looking around online, reading reviews, etc., when I came across the Vin02. It’s attractively designed and such but my main concern was “does it work?” The reviews here on Amazon certainly seemed to indicate that it did, but what initially sold me was the price – about HALF of what the competitors go for. Well, at such a low price I figured it was worth a shot, and if it didn’t really make a difference at least I hadn’t spent much for it. It arrived in 6 days, and I opened a bottle of our favorite $8.00 merlot to try it out. I put “A” and “B” stickers on the bottom of two glasses, poured straight from the bottle into glass “A” and then used the Vin02 for glass “B”. I called my wife and mother-in-law in, had them mix up the two glasses so even I wouldn’t know which was which, and we did a taste test. We all chose glass “B”, hands down. The difference the aerator made in the bouquet, smoothness, flavor, and finish was truly remarkable. I would think that the competing brands do a good job as well, but why pay twice as much when you can have the Vin02 do an excellent job while also looking like a piece of modern art on your table? The Vin02 is the one to buy, believe me!
LOVE THIS AERATOR! I LOVE THE SOUND THIS THING MAKES. IT MAKES THE WINE TASTE GREAT! DROPPED THIS ON THE FLOOR AND NO PROBLEM, IT’S MADE OUT OF THICK PLASTIC. IT COMES IN A NICE BOX AND A STAND FOR IT TO SIT IN. PRICE IS GREAT! BUY IT. YOU’LL DIG IT!
