In short, this is a weak product.

The shelves don’t stay in place because they are too light to hold the bottles. The electronic display broke after six months, so we could not regulate the temperature. Finally, the cooler stop working after one year and a half, and now all that is left is an annoying noise that sounds like a time bomb… which is exactly what this product is.

OK, here’s a brief about Vinotemp and this particular model. DON’T BUY IT. Whatever you do don’t buy it. First off, Vinotemp is a company run by unhelpful, rude and pretty much stupid employees. The reason for this animosity is simply because it’s the truth. They don’t care about your business or what you buy from them, they are oblivious to your needs and could care less to even sell you a product. Second, once they do convince you to buy one of their products, it will break in 3 months, 6 and if you’re lucky within a year. They don’t care to manufacture good products, their “warehouse” in Los Angeles is just that – a warehouse that receives poorly built products with 15 year old compressor technologies from China. They probably cost about $300 to create and are just some of the worst products money can buy. I’ve had two of these and they both failed and were calculated to be more expensive to repair than a brand new one of the same breed. Unbelievable. They didn’t even last 1-year. Vinotemp, of course, doesn’t care to fix them and will even have you drive the unit down to the hood (yes, they really have a warehouse in the straight L.A. ghetto aka Compton and Lynwood area) and what happens there is that you get a quote to pay for something because it’s not covered under their unbelievably limited warranty. Ultimate screw by Vinotemp. Please consumers, don’t buy these products they are pure garbage. ((Furthermore, a friend had the same model in question which froze his $5000 wine collection because it knew it was operating too cold but it couldn’t stop – good logic in that one Vinotemp).

Thermostat stopped working after 2 months. Refrigerator still cools, but cannot set the temp. and the temp. changes on its own. Also, makes a weird noise now. I finally just unplugged it.

I will now need to buy another brand to replace this one. Don’t waste your money on this one.

  4. Ble Fayolle says:

    1. The Vinotemp wine cooler arrived damaged.

    2. It looks cheap (although I liked the blue lights). Having to open the door all the way is annoying .

    3. The wood racks are difficult to slide out.

    4. The temperature doesn’t stay down when summer comes (now I know why after reading the comment from another reviewer: no compressor)

    5. The unit broke down 15 months after I bought it. Repair cost: $400. Forget about it, I’m junking it!

While this product arrived within 2 – 3 days, I quickly learned that this is a very cheap item. The shelves do not slide easily and bottles to do fit as well as they should. The temperature display board began malfunctioning after 6 months. Vinotemp could not have been more unhelpful. While I did buy an extended warranty, I’ve been struggling for 3 months to get this item fixed, all the while my wine is not properly stored.
