My wife drinks wine daily and as such we are always going on wine tastings and trying new wine bars. She recently saw the Vinturi Wine Aerators and tasted the wine she was hooked…this was the only thing she asked for at Christmas time. She received the Red and the White Aerators (at the time she did not even realize they made one for white) The boxes / packaging are the exact same except one says red and the other says white. There is no explanation of how they differ or how they areate differently. For kicks we did a blind taste test using red wine poured thru both and white poured thru both….no difference to our tastes (everyone tastes are different so you may have a refined wine taste). So I would suggest you just save your money and buy the red aerator and use for both (most wine shops only sell the red one so it the easier of the two to find).
As far as using the Aerator it is a must for the serious wine drinker. I thought it was a gimmick at first but I am hooked it really does open up your wine and really adds a new level to the wine. Everyone who drinks at our house is given the wine poured from the bottle and than another from the Aerator and everyone agrees the wine tastes much better using the aerator. It takes good wine and makes it nice it takes nice wine and makes it fantastic. We have bought several for gifts and the results are all the same everyone loves the Vinturi Aerator. I just suggest you buy one instead of the set.
Vinturi Wine Aerators really do work. Taste the wine first before pouring through a Vinturi then after doing so. Big difference. Yes, you can decant or let it ‘air’ but the Vinturi does it all in a few seconds! Didn’t believe it myself until I tried it a few times. They say the red works just as well with white wine but I don’t believe so, plus you have to rinse it out or you’ll have faux rose’. (-:

The red wine aerator seems to be more useful than the white. Maybe on more expensive wines there could be a big difference. We are not in the expensive wine area of purchases, but wines more in tune with our budget. The wine bottle opener and aerators together make a very attractive set.
